Face Jug Workshop
Face Jug Workshop
Make a Ceramic Face Jug
Come spend an intimate afternoon making around my Brooklyn kitchen table. We'll coil build face jugs together, where I'll guide you through creating your own piece in the rich tradition of American Southern face jugs and Sicilian Moor heads.
These workshops fill up fast – there's something magical about working with clay while stories flow and coffee gets cold. You'll leave with dirty fingernails, new friends, and a one-of-a-kind piece that's entirely yours.
I'll handle all the technical stuff after class: firing and glazing your creation so it's ready to hold flowers, coin change, or just sit pretty on your shelf.
What's included:
2.5 hours of guided instruction around my kitchen table
All clay, tools, and materials – just show up
Bisque firing and white glaze finish (completed by me after class)
One finished face jug ready for pickup in 3–4 weeks
Final dimensions: approximately 4"×7" including handles
Light refreshments and good conversation
What to bring:
Clothes you don't mind getting clay-happy in
Creative energy (and maybe a friend to share the experience!)
An open mind for experimenting
